The 2009 season was another good one for us
both in some of the trophies taken, but more so in the clients we
hosted.
Elk season in the wilderness camps started things off with a bang.
Three archers took three bulls in five days of hunting. Best bull was a
275 6 x 6 taken by Alan Bullard from Kansas. Some great bulls were seen
and stalked, but gave us the slip.
Rifle season started off snowing and pretty much didn't let up until
the end of October. We also had some of the coldest October temps we've
ever seen in camp. Some good bulls were taken and every one of them was
hard earned. Dan Thompson from California took the best bull, with a
nice 360+ 6 x 6.
Once again we got the opportunity to guide a special hunter from the
Outdoor Dream Foundation. Jacob Vernatter, along with his Dad Randy,
came out here from Ohio on Jacob's dream hunt. By 9:00 AM on day one of
Jacob's hunt we were taking pictures of a big mule deer that grossed
195+. Visit the Outdoor Dream Foundation at
www.outdoordream.org to learn more
about this wonderful organization.
Kansas Whitetail was fun as usual. Seven hunters took six nice deer.
Longtime client Scott Bunton brought his wife, Angie, and their
daughter, Elizabeth. Scott was holding out for Mister Big and was the
lone non-fill.
